Sauna and Spa in the heart of Amsterdam
Sauna de Keizer combines the use of both sauna and spa therapy to create a luxurious, self-pampering environment where rest and relaxation, together with comfort and style leave you feeling regenerated and revitalised.
Before using one of our saunas, we recommend that you first use our traditional salt scrub foot bath. By stimulating the skin on the soles of your feet your body will acclimatise to the heat of the sauna more easily.
A Choice of Three Sauna Treatments
Infrared - unlike a traditional sauna, the use a special heater at 45° celcius encourages perspiration from within which promotes better blood circulation in the body. This is said to improve conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and muscle stiffness.
Dry – probably the most well-known type of sauna. Steam is generated by pouring water on hot stones which encourages a rise in temperature to produce perspiration and begin the process of eliminating toxins in the skin. Special aromas are used like lavender and eucalyptus to promote relaxtion.
Steam – the high moisture content in a steam room is thought to be especially good for respiratory problems, furthermore the great advantage of the steam bath is the beneficial effect on the skin. Moist heat stimulates blood flow and cleanses the skin intensively, removing dead skin and impurities and leaving the skin feeling soft, clean and smooth.
Hot or Cold Jacuzzi
Together with your sauna experience, we recommend that you also make use of our choice of hot and cold invigorating jacuzzis which not only provide a massaging effect on the skin but also help to remove the last of any impurities in your skin and promote better blood circulation - leaving your skin with a beautiful, naturally healthy glow.
Afterwards, take advantage of a relaxing, meditation room lined with cushions to read or simply contemplate…
